Hopkins needs to go out with A BANG THIS YEAR
Hopkins needs to really push themselves to success this year. Upon winning the national title last year, they are losing two of their players. Their number 2 and 4 shooters due to graduation. Upon that many new teams from the area are stepping up to the challenge this year to keep this team from advancing to the regular season.
All eyes on Wayzata, EP, and Hopkins North
There were some big moves for the state champion Hopkins this off-season. Out of their big five players, they let go of 2. They let one go because of the lack of energy and talent, they let the other one go because of the attitude. The 3rd left because he lived too far away. They just let go of their 2,4,and 5th best players. Now the Royals picked up one player that lives close. But he has never played basketball before so they are going to teach him. On the other hand, Wayzata South picked up the Royals 4th and 5th players. Wayzata Central picked up the Royals 2nd best player. EP is looking to go out just as strong as they have last year. They are hoping to go to state again. With the state champions a little weaker, and underdog team stronger and the 2nd best just as strong, Its going to be a good season for the Metro Conference.
